LOOE’S RNLI crew can look forward to a few treats when they return to station from their next shout, thanks to a delivery from their local Morrisons supermarket.
Staff member Juren called in at the lifeboat station with a hamper of tea, coffee, biscuits and snacks.
The supermarket is delivering the boxes out to emergency service teams in the area to thank them for their work during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Looe Lifboat operations manager, Dave Haines, met Juren at the lifeboat station and thanked her and everyone at Morrisons on behalf of the crew.
He said: ’Our crews are often cold, wet and hungry returning from a shout, and a hot drink and biscuits are eagerly welcomed.’
Meanwhile Looe RNLI deputy launching authority Nick Pope said it is probably a well-known fact that lifeboat crews up and down the country are fuelled by tea and biscuits. He joked: ’One of our core competences is tea drinking and biscuit dunking, so it will be much appreciated. Thankyou!’
