It has been announced that Milo, a small, plucky Cockapoo, who lives at the Battling On Care Farm in Callington, is now a finalist in the 2023 Soldiering On Awards.
The Animal Partnership Award honours the unique relationships and companionship provided by animals that support and empower members of the Armed Forces community.
Milo is one of three finalists, there others include; Baxter, Canine Partner to disabled veteran Jonathan Giemza-Pipe and Pete Lewin Newfoundlands, non-profit mental health support organisation.
Battling On Care Farm in Callington is a charity which provides wraparound care and support to veterans struggling with civilian life.
Milo suffered an early life trauma was left him withdrawn and afraid. But after being rescued by the team at Battling On, he's now helping local vulnerable people and Veterans in South East Cornwall find the path to recovery.
Battling On Director, Nikki Markham MBE: "The clock is ticking, and we are on the countdown for voting for Milo our therapy dog at Battling On nominated by veterans for the National Animal Partnership.
"We have until Sunday (August 6) to vote. Remember this little fellow has transformed lives even though he had his own traumatic start to life and was due to be put down before we rescued him.
"Please take time to vote and share widely and allow the world to see kindness, understanding and unconditional love can transform lives both human and furry."
