POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision on the A30 east of Launceston on Tuesday (January 25).
Emergency services were called at around 6.15pm after the collision between a silver Ford Focus and a parked lorry in a layby on the A30 westbound between Stowford Cross, the junction for Roadford Lake, and Liftondown near Launcestopn.
The car driver, a man in his 50s from Okehampton, West Devon, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The HGV driver was uninjured.
The road was closed for more than six hours for a forensic examination of the scene to take place.
Officers are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision and asking for anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them. They would also like to hear from anyone who may have relevant dash cam footage.
