New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to two of Cornwall’s restaurants, cafes or canteens, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.

Watergate Beach Food, at Harbour Brewing Company, Watergate Bay Private Car Park, Watergate Road, Newquay was handed a four-out-of-five rating after assessment on April 7.

And Subway, at Altarnun, Launceston, Cornwall was given a score of two on April 7.

It means that of Cornwall's 1,614 restaurants, cafes and canteens with ratings, 1,344 (83%) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
