LAST Saturday's 3-0 home defeat against Witheridge proved the final straw for Liskeard Athletic's hard-working management team of Martin Burgess and Kevin Harley.
The pair announced their resignation after the final whistle, ending four months of struggle for the former Vospers Oak Villa pair.
Liskeard, like several household names in Devon and Cornwall football, have had hard times during recent seasons... as former bosses like Leigh Cooper and Darren Edwards will testify.
Burgess arrived at Lux Park with a reputation of building a good side at Vospers without a playing budget, but the difference between the Carlsberg South West Peninsula League's Premier Division and Division One West is vast, as there are no easy games at this level.
