LISKEARD-LOOE put up a battling performance before falling to a 39-15 defeat at Teignmouth in their last Tribute Cornwall and Devon League match of the season.
Despite key players being unavailable due to injury, the Lions went ahead in the 15th minute through a penalty from James Noel-Johnson.
Although Mark Moody went close to adding to the scoreline, the visitors found themselves 20-3 down.
However, Baz Hocking – playing in the unaccustomed berth of fly-half – went through to score an unconverted try in the last play of the half.
Within five minutes of the restart, the Lions conceded another unconverted try following a defensive mistake – but battled back with Lewis Elliot going over and Hocking converting.
That was as good as it got for Liskeard-Looe, though, as Teignmouth extended their advantage to secure victory.
