A 6-0 HOME defeat by Ivybridge Town was not the introduction into Carlsberg South West Peninsula League management that Paul Blatchford would have wanted, but the new Liskeard Athletic boss was still able to take positives from his side's heaviest defeat of the season.

Said Blatchford: 'The final scoreline did not flatter us and certainly didn't show that we had contributed a fair bit towards the game.

'We got caught trying to play the ball out of defence for the first two goals but, to the lads' credit, they came back.

'Matt Lyndsay, Tom Hall and Robbie Almond all had chances to score, and had they gone in, then the game would have been totally different.'
