SLEEPING bags and warm clothing donated by local people will help the Salvation Army to support people in need this winter.
The Cornish Times made a call for hats, gloves and can openers, as well as sleeping bags, and businesses in the Liskeard area responded wholeheartedly.
Of the 31 sleeping bags provided, several have already been given out, said Captain Julian Short, of Liskeard’s Salvation Army.
Mince pies, sausage rolls and other foodstuffs made a welcome contribution to an afternoon tea staged on Christmas Day at the Salvation Army’s Church Hall.
