A village pub in the Tamar Valley has won the Cornwall CAMRA Pub of the Year 2019.
This is quite an achievement since Ian and Amy Durnall only bought The White Hart Inn in Chilsworthy near Gunnisake in 2017 when it was very run down and the kitchen had been condemned.
Now the traditional freehouse has been refurbished, serving home cooked food and a range of good quality ales - many of them local.
Amy said: ‘Winning CAMRA is an outstanding achievement as we were not in the last guide as we had not been here long enough. We are still shocked that we have won it but it is all down to the hard work of our dedicated team and, of course, our returning locals and new customers spreading the word.’
CAMRA assesses pubs not just on their beer but on the welcome, cleanliness and overall experience.
