Boscastle 1 Bere Alston 5
Despite having several players missing, due to suspensions and injuries, Bere Alston turned this potentially tricky away game into a rout. Boscastle pressed in the opening few minutes and should have scored. Only a fine save from Howells denied the lively Williams. Then, straight up the other end, Ross Hann and Truscott both went close as Dave Hallet and Mark Wheeler began to dominate the midfield. Wheeler's through-ball was met by Truscott, whose first-time shot from 22 yards found the bottom left corner. Minutes later, they made it two. Hallet's free-kick was met by the head of Daymond who powered his effort into the top right corner from 15 yards. The game was over on the half-hour mark as the home defence failed to clear their lines from a corner and Hann smashed home the loose ball from ten yards for a three-goal lead at the break. The second period started much the same as the first and the away side soon made it four. Daymond, Wheeler and Hann combined, releasing Hallet, whose pinpoint cross was met by Truscott's head from ten yards which gave the goalkeeper no chance. Daymond and Hann went close before Truscott completed his second hat-trick in three games. Daymond's fierce shot was parried into the path of the on-form striker who tapped in for number five. Boscastle managed to grab a late consolation goal from a fine 20-yard free-kick, but it proved too little, too late. Bere Alston entertain St Merryn in their next match tomorrow with a 2.30 pm kick-off. Manager Paul Blatchford will select from the following: G Howells, M Reid, D Wooley, L Howells, J Crawford, N Harvey, S Daymond, M Wheeler, D Hallet, K Blatchford, A Reid, R Hann, W Westlake, S Piper and C Truscott.
