Clampdown on
fly-tipping
CARADON councillors are monitoring the continuing fly-tipping situation in Torpoint.
The district council says that for many years the rear lanes behind houses in the centre of Torpoint have had a significant amount of fly-tipping by local residents.
Complaints have been received and clearances have been made in the past.
Now, letters are to be sent to landlords and occupiers of properties next to the affected streets, stating the problem.
The letter from the council goes on to say that anyone dumping waste in the lanes or the streets will risk prosecution by either the council or the Environment Agency.
