Callington Primary School took part in Super Schools on Friday February 4, an organisation which raises money to support up and coming sports celebrities, as well as helping participating schools with their own fundraising programme.

The money raised for Callington Primary will go towards upgrading the computer suite. The hope is that the Super Schools project will raise £2000 to start the fundraising with the aim of reaching a target of £10,000. The pupils' sponsorship money will be collected and counted by February 16 with the hope of reaching their £2000 target.

Debbie Marti, the British high jump record holder who has represented Britain at two Olympic games, was present on the day to support the pupils and demonstrated the skills needed to become a top class high jumper.

A surprise celebrity who arrived with hardly any warning was Todd Bennett, a silver Olympic medallist for the 400 metres relay who also helped with the pupils' activities.
