Darran Lock (Seaton) is pictured holding the Downderry Senior WMC Cup for the 1998/99 Championships which at the age of 12 made him the youngest ever winner. Last season Darran made the final of the Cornwall under 19 championship and the last 32 of the English under 15 Championships.
He has already made an excellent start to this season, competing at the Sainsburys' Five Classic Under-21 competition at the Matchroom Cole-brook, Plympton, which attracted over 71 competitors from all over the country.
Darran reached the last 8, which was a tremendous performance. Having won the two preliminary rounds 2-0, Darran managed two further vins in the final rounds when the seeds entered the competition.
Having won the first match 3-2, Darran showed great deter-miniation to come back from 2-0 down to win 3-2 in the second match, especially as his opponent was nineteen. He finally lost his quarter final match after playing over 10 hours of competitive snooker. Darran was only one of two matchroom members to make the quarter finals.
