The death of the former mayor of Liskeard, Michael Andrews, has totally shocked me.
We were the same age and lived in the same road (Lanchard Road) while growing up. We went to school together, shared many things together like Scouts and left school in 1960.
I remember all the family including his parents. Michael should have been, like me, thinking of submitting the application for the state pension in 2010.
I would like to pass on my thoughts and prayers to all at this time. Many years ago Michael used to deliver Sunday papers and regularly called on my dad, Leonard T Brassett, often asking where I was in the world and what I was doing. I left Liskeard in December 1968 and was in the RAF at Chivenor in North Devon.
I am still in shock.
