Scouts in South East Cornwall are appealing for contributions for a new archive.
The Archives and Cornish Studies Service is working with Cornwall Scouts to put together documents, photographs and memorabilia telling the story of Scouting in Cornwall.
Nick Hinchliff, of Liskeard, a manager with the East Cornwall Scout District, is asking for items from past and present Scouts in the area or from anyone who has items which could form part of the archive to represent the local Scouting area.
The Cornish Scouting Archive will be housed in the new Kresen Kernow Cornwall Centre when it opens in 2018 in the former Redruth Brewery building which is part of a regeneration programme.
The East Cornwall District, which runs from St Neot to Torpoint and from Looe to Stoke Climsland, has 13 groups.
Anyone who has items for the archive project or would like to talk about being a Scout volunteer can contact Nick via email at [email protected]
