Lanhydrock has restored a historic chair thanks to donations from visitors.

It is made from fabric from the robes of Viscountess Clifton who wore them for the Coronation of Edward VII in 1902. It features a red velvet cover with a silver-gilt wire floral decoration. Originally in the Long Galley at Lanhydrock 100 years ago, it was found in storage in Penrose near Helston in 2008.

The conservation to restore the chair took over two years and funds were raised through visitors purchasing raffle tickets at Lanhydrock. The chair is now back on display in the house to be appreciated once again.
