RADIO phone-in host Mike Dickin has died following a road accident in Cornwall. The presenter, who listeners knew as 'The King', was involved in a six-car crash on Monday on the westbound carriageway of the A30 near Bodmin. Mr Dickin, 60, was airlifted to Treliske Hospital in Truro but later died. Talksport colleague James Whale said that radio 'would never be the same again' and called him 'the original grumpy old man'. The presenter, who broadcast from his home studio at Warleggan, hosted weekend overnight phone-ins on Talksport. The accident closed the A30 for several hours while an investigation into its cause took place. Two other men in one of the vehicles were treated for slight injuries. Officers are appealing for any witnesses to the collision to contact them on 08452 777 444.
