Cornish charity Cornwall Hospice Care has been chosen to receive a donation from the Duke of Cornwall’s Benevolent Fund.
The money will be used to provide the specialist care offered at Mount Edgcumbe Hospice in St Austell and St Julia’s Hospice in Hayle.
The fund is made up from the assets of people who have died without writing a Will. When someone in Cornwall passes away with no will or surviving relatives, their estate passes to the Duke of Cornwall. This is known as ’Bona Vacantia’ and Prince Charles, Duke of Cornwall, has chosen to donate all monies from the Bona Vacantia estates to the Duke of Cornwall’s Benevolent Fund which was established in 1975.
