GUNNISLAKE’S Post Office is set for a change with a new interior and longer opening hours.

The Fore Street branch will shut for 12 days from November 11 while the refurbishment work takes place.

The new system will see the same Post Office services as before delivered from two open-plan tills integrated into the retail part of the convenience store.

Services will be provided from 8.30am - 5.30pm Mondays to Saturdays - an increase of 13 hours per week on the current opening times.

A Post Office spokesperson said: ‘The new layout is a more modern way of offering Post Office services, but it in no way compromises the professional service standards that customers rightly expect in all of our branches. Staff are fully aware of the need to respect customer privacy and confidentiality.’

Nearest alternative branches for Gunnislake customers are located in Tavistock, Harrowbarrow, or St Dominick.
