The Kernow Matters To Us campaign group has written to the clerks of all 213 city, town and parish councils in Cornwall with an appeal to join the campaign against the proposed cross-border Westminster Parliamentary constituency to be known as Bideford, Bude and Launceston.

In the letter, the group writes: ‘We have considerable support for the campaign to stop this tinkering with our border with Devon... including Lord Paul Tyler, the actress Susan Penhaligon and others who have now written to condemn the Boundary Commission quango’s silly proposals.’ 

Cornwall Council is opposing the proposal.
