THE classes for cattle and sheep at an upcoming show have been cancelled amid an outbreak of bluetongue disease in the East of England.

A spokesperson for Liskeard and District Prime Stock show said: “Sorry to announce that we have had to cancel the classes for cattle and sheep at our forthcoming show.

“We have done this reluctantly done this because of the increasing provision we would have to make in case we had a disease outbreak at the show.

“The premises are not suitable if we had to overnight any animals.

“All the other classes are continuing as normal in the Shed and Umbrella buildings.”
