BMX pro-rider Allister Loughran was joined by local children as he put Duloe’s new skate park through its paces.
The £75,000 equipment has been provided by grant funding from Viridor and Sita Cornwall, with hard graft from a fundraising committee over two years bringing in £10,000 towards the cost.
Around 150 people attended the official opening of the park.
With boards and scooters at the ready, many were eager to test out the new ramps as soon as the ribbon had been cut by parish council chairman Ken Rice. The event demonstrated how positive community action can really make a difference, said John Massey of the skatepark committee. ‘We must thank Sita Cornwall Trust and Viridor Credits for their financial support and to Evolution Skateparks for their design, knowledge and for the outstanding quality of the product.’
