CHILDREN are being encouraged to make a poppy this half-term as part of a Bodmin supermarket’s annual Remembrance display, paying respect to servicemen and women who have served the United Kingdom.

Sainsburys, in Bodmin is asking school children to create a single poppy to add to the display which will be featured in-store.

Lyn Smith, a former services veteran who organises the display in the store said: “It’s half term. If you have a child that is getting bored, how about asking them to draw, paint or stick a single poppy and drop it in to be displayed for our annual poppy display.”
