Stratton visited Pensilva on Sunday in the Launceston cup and found appalling conditions.
A gale force wind made football extremely difficult and upon winning the toss Captain Swinburne chose to play with the wind at his back.
Pensilva were wearing their changed strip and some of the smaller players had problems as the extra, extra large shirts acted as sails and blew them all over the place. The only goal in the first half came from Tony Rogers to give his side the lead. Otherwise there was nothing to cheer the crowd, who were all freezing except Danny Skews, who only needed a T-shirt.
The expected Stratton onslaught never came in the second half as Pensilva were still the better side and they made it 2-0 from a penalty, well converted by keeper Dave Hicks. Hicks did provide some amusement near the end though: upon collecting the ball he kicked it straight to an opposition forward who accepted the gift gratefully to grab a consolation goal.
