KATE Endacott has seen a project that started as ‘three buckets of flowers on my parents’ hedge’ turn in to a bumper produce stall helping people through the pandemic.
Together with her partner Martin Hunn, Kate makes sure that the stalls at the top of Calstock Hill, near Albaston, are filled with fruit, flowers and veg picked that morning.
Martin is growing all the strawberries and potatoes on his family’s market garden and sources other vegetables from local suppliers, while the flowers come from St Dominick.
‘We started out just over a year ago with three buckets of flowers on my parents’ hedge. We now have two covered stalls and a trolley,’ said Kate.
‘We have had so much positive feedback.
‘We also are supporting the Calstock emergency food point which is down in the village on a Tuesday 2pm-4pm and a Thursday 10am-1pm.’
