PARENTS of children at Looe Community Academy have been advised that there has been a confirmed case of Covid-19 within the school setting.
The school is open for all students who have not been told to isolate.
In a post on the school’s Facebook page, headteacher Scott Yalden said: “We are continuing to monitor the situation and are working closely with the DFE, Public Health England and the Local Authority.
“We have taken action as advised within the necessary timescale. The school remains open and, providing your child remains well, they can continue to attend school as normal. We will keep this under review.”
Meanwhile a nursery in Liskeard has closed after a confirmed case of Covid-19 at the setting.
Twelve children and six members of staff at the Bumbles B day nursery are self-isolating.
A spokesperson for the nursery said: "The Department for Education and Cornwall Council are working together to support staff, parents and the children at Bumbles B day nursery, following a confirmed case of COVID-19.
"Cornwall Council’s public health team will continue to work closely with the nursery to ensure appropriate action is taken.
"Additional cleaning of the setting is taking place and the nursery has closed for the self-isolation period."
