People in the Tamar Valley eligible for free flu jabs are being urged to make an appointment.

The NHS offers the flu vaccine free to anyone over the age of 65 as well to ‘special risk’ groups such as pregnant women and people with certain medical conditions.

Clinics will also be offering jabs for shingles and pneumonia.

Appointments must be booked in advance by calling 01579 382666 or 01822 832641. Clinics are at Callington Health Centre on October 8, 15 and 22; Gunnislake Health Centre on October 8 and 22; Harrowbarrow Village Hall on October 25; Stoke Climsland Old School on October 8 and 29; and Calstock Village Hall on October 6 and 13.
