THE events of last Saturday have already brought a swift response from assistant player-manager Lee Harvey, who has asked to be released from his contract to join Peninsula Premier outfit Tavistock. Harvey has given six years sterling service to the Blues, and many were of the opinion that he should have been handed the managerial reins after Dave Leonard's move to Truro City. 'I feel it is time for me to have a complete break, although I am devastated about the events at Liskeard as it is a very good club,' stated a clearly upset Harvey. 'I want to get back to playing, and enjoying my football, and Tavistock are giving me the opportunity to do that. 'I have spoken to both John (Clarkson) and Chris (Burchell) to clear the way for me being released from my contract, and both said they did not have a problem with that. 'I have made a lot of friends at Liskeard and it was not an easy decision, but due to circumstances I was left with no other option but to make the break,' explained Harvey. The question now is who will be joining Harvey in requesting a release from their contracts as it is rumoured that Bideford have already made a move for midfielder Ian Down, and how long will it be before the vultures descend on Lux Park?
