Next Sunday, May 19, sees the traditional ’Beating of the Bounds’ of Liskeard.

The challenging 10-mile walk was originally carried out in 1587 to establish that all was in order and that the Boundary Stones had not been removed.

It starts with the bumping of the Mayor at the milestone adjacent to Morrisons roundabout at 10.30am.

Points of interest on route are Maudlin, Bodgara Mill, Stony Bridge, Craddock Ford, Lestitha Well and Looe Mills. Walkers will stop for lunch at Treworgey Manor and are expected to finish their day-long trek at Lodge Hill around 5pm.

Dogs on leads are welcome.
