A school garden that was restored after a vandal attack is to be given a VIP re-opening.

Just before the summer break, saltash.net community school’s special educational needs garden The Zone was vandalised.

The garden was ruined and a rabbit hutch was destroyed.

Managers asked local businesses if they would help to restore the garden in time for the children’s return.

Ivybridge’s Endsleigh Garden Centre came to the rescue, donating plants, a new pond, a new rabbit hutch, paving slabs, turf, a huge amount of flowers and plants as well as garden accessories.

And volunteers gave hundreds of hours of work to put the garden back into shape.

Saltash Mayor Hilary Frank will re-open the garden on September 19, with a representative from Endsleigh.
