The children at Menheniot Primary School marked St Piran’s Day by joining in activities relating to Cornwall.
These included dressing up in Cornish colours, making Cornish Fairings and learning about the Cornish culture. They also learnt about four famous Cornish characters - Dolly Pentreath, Richard Trevithick, Humphrey Davy and Reverend Hawker.
Former teacher at the school Hilary Geary recently published a book ’Davy and Demelza meet...’ which tells the story of these characters and their legacy to Cornwall.
