PHOTOS of a local reservoir are needed for a new educational project.
The two-year ’I Love Water’ project aims to help children understand where their water comes from and how to conserve it.
After the restrictions lift, The South West Lakes Trust will be inviting schools and families to Siblyback Lake near Liskeard to take part in activity days and practical volunteering.
’One of the main themes of the school visits will be for pupils to become a ‘scientist for the day’; they will learn about the history of the water supply and construction of the reservoirs, treatment of water and how we can conserve it,’ said a spokesperson for the Trust.
’To help in this project, we are asking the public if they have any photos that show how the area looked before the reservoir was built or during its construction.
’Alternatively, any stories or memories of living around the area at that time would be appreciated.’
SWLT is also planning to run the project at Roadford, Burrator, Trenchford, Wimbleball and Longham Lakes.
