REGARDING the increasing of the height of the harbour walls and the new quay buildings in East Looe – I am not a harbour commissioner, a fisherman or a fish merchant, just a simple sailor. However, what I cannot understand is why hasn't a dredger been employed to make the Looe River deeper? This has happened in the past. Surely, removing the sand and silt would be much more cost-effective than spending thousands of pounds on building up the river banks and increasing the height of buildings, measures that are not really necessary. Harbour commissioners, think: do you really want to be like Pentewan? What's the point of harbour commissioners without a harbour? Really, if you don't know the answer, then for the sake of us all who love Looe consult with a professional, who does.
