Torpoint Ath 2

It was a night to celebrate as the Tamarsiders played their first game under the new floodlights at The Mill... unfortunately for them somebody forgot to read the script to visitors Dartmouth.

Torpoint went into the game boasting seven consecutive wins, but a poor second half display, in which Dartmouth scored twice without reply, promptly destroyed that proud record.

The home side even had the bonus of taking a 14th minute lead, when prolific marksman Adam Carter took Darren Hicks' through-ball to fire home from 12 yards.

Unfortunately they only held that advantage for four minutes, as Jordan Hopkins fired the Darts level before Gareth Davis gave them a 32nd-minute lead.

Torpoint came back to restore parity three minutes later, as Carter returned the favour by

setting up Hicks to fire the home from the edge of the area.

The second period was a close affair, until the Darts hit two goals in a manic three-minute spell, the first coming on 71 minutes.

The home defence allowed the ball to bounce around in the area before Davis headed home from eight yards and, with the home side still reeling, Tom Comyn picked up a long pass to fire past Martin Piper from 15 yards.
