St Lawrence Hos. v Luckett II

Luckett avenged their only defeat to date when they won at St Lawrence by 44 runs. In Luckett's total of 180-8 there were useful knocks from Robin Gold (36), Darren Piper (26) Brian Bobins (23 n.o.), Steve Piper (16), Tom Bolitho (13) and Chris Gair (11). Wicket-takers for Saints were J J Car thew (2-38), D Mitvhell (1-37) and G Burden (4.48).

In reply Luckett's bowlers were soon getting wickets as four fell for only 16 runs. However a stand between D Mitchell and P Dowling of 53 runs gave St Lawrence some hope but as Dowling's wicketyfell the last five batsmen scored only 128 between them leaving Mitchell with a very good 65 no to close their innings on 136. Luckett's bowlers on a very hot afternoon took the wickets between them. Of the four used D Colwill took 2-23 off 10 overs, Tom Bolitho the old veteran 2-41 from 16, Paul Ingerson 4-44 from 11 and Darren Piper 2-16.
