Cornwall retained a Street Sports title after an event at Mount Hawke Skatepark near Truro last week.

The home team were in great form on four wheels or two as youngsters enjoyed the experience of competing at one of the skate park which hosts of the Team GB Olympic Trials for Tokyo 2020.

Cornwall’s Mount Hawke team took gold in both the scooter and skateboard team classes as their fellow Cornish contingent from Junkyard took the BMX team gold.

The event was the opening competition of the 2018 South West Rotary Youth Games which concludes with the Summers Finals in Dawlish on July 7.  Around 10,000 young people aged 8-18, both able-bodied and disabled, take part in the Games each year.
