A MARTIAL arts expert has spoken of his desire to carry on a club he was due to launch with his friend who was tragically killed in the M5 crash disaster.

Dale Trevail, from Callington, is running the club in memory of Kye Thomas, 38, of St Ann's Chapel, who died in November in the multi-vehicle accident on the motorway at Taunton in Somerset.

'TT Taekwondo was the club Kye and I were setting up in late 20ll,' said Dale.

'In fact, I was with Kye and we had finalised the starting date for our new club on that fateful day on November 4.

'I was never sure whether or not to carry on with the club without my friend and fellow black belt, but people thought I should and I think Kye would have wanted me to, so I decided to go ahead and open.

'In January, this year I started the club at the Old School, Stoke Climsland, near Callington.

'It's still relatively small but slowly growing and two of my students are Kye's children, Jordan and Kane Thomas.'

Kye, a Ginsters lorry driver, died as a result of the 34-vehicle crash which claimed the lives of six other people.
