Caradon councillors have agreed donations of £250 to aid sports-minded residents.

Naomi Aire will receive £50 to help her attend a Girl Guides world camp while brothers Douglas and Andy Cooke will gain £100 towards the cost of attending the national chess championships at Scarborough. Mark Gliddon and Richard Andrews will receive £50 each to help towards badminton training at Tunbridge Wells this month to enable them to advance in the national standings. Both have gained championship status on the Cornwall circuit
