AFTER almost two years of disruption for brass bands throughout Britain, and, in particular Cornwall, Callington Town Band are pleased to say they are back in business playing together and feel confident to announce that they are once again inviting brass players to join the main band.

The band is also offering free tuition to anybody interested in learning to play a brass instrument, whatever their age, from six years old to those beyond retirement.

In a really friendly and relaxed atmosphere players can be taught the elements of brass playing and music with regular weekly teaching sessions. The band can even lend out an instrument free of charge.

If you are an experienced player or want to learn or would just like to give it a try then give the secretary, Shirley Morse, a call on 01579 384728 or email [email protected]">[email protected]

The band meets on Thursday evenings in the band room in Callington Heritage Centre, Liskeard Road, from 6.15pm for training band/learners and from 7.30pm for main band.

A spokesperson added: “It’s not too late to make a New Year’s resolution so why not give it a go?”
