ON-STREET parking in Saltash town centre has been increased from 30 minutes to one hour.

The waiting time in Fore Street and Wesley Road has been extended in order to give people more time to visit local shops as well as the bank or post office, said mayor Gloria Challen, who has been working with the relevant authorities to make the change.

’The extended time will be available initially for six months, and will be reviewed again after that period,’ said Cllr Challen.

’Many local residents have always had great concern over the limited waiting time of just 30 minutes in Fore Street, as this short time did not facilitate shoppers and visitors to go about their business with ease, or allow time to browse around our lovely town.’
