Callington's dominance was such that Sam Stewart made only one save in the first half, going full length to push away a close range fierce drive. Tom May headed over his own crossbar when Mary Tavy got into Callington's penalty area on a rare occasion. Callington's control was due to a sound defence and a high work load from Matt Reid and Adam Surgoyne. In midfield this allowed goals by Tom Hill (2), Tony Truscott's clever free kick and a Keiron Ruck quality strike put Callington 5-0 ahead by half time.
Callington kept the pressure up and enjoyed good possession with some good football being played. Nick Sheriff and James Shorten at full back did their bit by winning tackles and giving the ball to feet to keep Callington moving forward and they made sure that Mary Tavy's 'keeper was the busiest and further goals from Williams (2), a second from Ruck and from Reid a 30 yard effort that gave the goalie no chance.
Mary Tavy kept going and got a couple of goals back, but it was Callington's youngsters day and no one more than Tom Hill deserved to get amongst the goals and his share of glory.
