A ‘PRINTING Magic’ exhibition due to begin tomorrow (Wednesday) at the Tamar Valley Centre will focus on the technique of lino printing.
Some of the work on show has been created by students working under the tuition of Albaston artist Peter Ursem, who says the technique has regained popularity in recent years.
‘Making a lino print is a simple and honest technique that is not difficult to understand and doesn’t need complicated equipment,’ he said. ‘But by applying contrast, colour, mark-making, movement and rhythm in your design, you can create the most dramatic and powerful images.’
The exhibition shows finished pieces as well as sketch designs and proofs and will be run from from Wednesday, November 18, to Sunday, November 29, 11am to 4.30pm.
