THE last two winners of the Cornish Times’ £50 competition were delighted when each was picked to receive cash to spend with one of the newspaper’s advertisers.

Anita Bishop, of Herodsfoot, said in her competition entry: ‘I would spend the money at The Highwayman in Dobwalls, as it is where my son works and it would make a nice change for him to wait on me, as opposed to the other way around.’

Anita is pictured receiving her £50 cheque from pub landlord Rod Murrain, watched by her son Ryan, her sister Tracey, her mum Veronica and her nan Vera.

Meanwhile, fellow £50 winner Vicki Buck, of Looe, chose to spend her winnings at Trago Mills, in the Glynn Valley near Liskeard.

Vicki gave as her reason for choosing the store: ‘Trago Mills has a brilliant selection of pet supplies at reasonable prices. As I have a new puppy, the money will be a great help and will be put to good use.’
