CELEBRITY MasterChef contestant and resident of the Tywardreath area Dick Strawbridge is to star in a new television series, along with his son James.

The duo will star in The Hungry Sailors, to be shown on ITV1 from Monday at 4pm on weekdays.

The series highlights the pair setting off from Fowey in a 44ft fishing boat, and sailing to London. En route they stop at numerous places, mooring up and then exploring the local food in the vicinity.

Dick, 52, and 27-year-old James meet up with fellow sailors, fishermen, market gardeners and even former Formula 1 racing star Jody Scheckter, who has given up competing against the likes of James Hunt to farm organic buffalo, as well as beef, pork, lamb and chicken, in Hampshire.

The series shows how he ensures that his animals are organic by feeding them on 31 varying grasses so they are raised in the best and most healthy way possible.

After picking up the local food, during each stop Dick – who really enjoyed his stint on Celebrity MasterChef – and James use it to cook meals in the small kitchen on the fishing boat.
